The initiative rewards clubs for releasing players to represent national teams in UEFA competitions.
Liverpool FC have received a cool sum of £3.04 million/€3.54 million from the UEFA Club Benefits Programme. A total of €233 million (£200 million) was disbursed to reward club teams for releasing players to represent national teams in UEFA competitions, including the Nations League, European Qualifiers, and EURO 2024.
This system compensates clubs based on both quantity and quality. For the Nations League and qualifiers, clubs received €10,000 per player per match. For tournament matches, daily rates ranged from €8,500 to €12,500 per player, depending on FIFA’s training compensation classification.
With a total of 14 senior players participating in EURO 2024 qualifiers and the tournament itself, Liverpool FC ranks as one of the top beneficiaries of the programme, reflecting their status as one of the elite squads in European football today. Manchester City (€5.17m) and Real Madrid (€4.79m) were two other squads that outplaced the Reds.
