As frustrating as Wednesday’s derby draw was, Liverpool are still well positioned seven points clear in the title race and just need to focus on the next game.

The way Wednesday’s derby match against Everton unfolded was frustrating for Liverpool, with the Reds holding double the possession and competing nearly double the passes but Everton being rewarded with twice as many fouls in their favour.

An equalizer eight minutes into five minutes of stoppage time capped a night when Virgil van Dijk says referee Michael Oliver lost control of the night, but none of that now can be changed and Liverpool’s Conor Bradley says all they can do now is look ahead.

“Obviously it was a tough game, always is tough coming here” Bradley noted following the 2-2 draw. “Bitterly disappointed at the end to lose the three points. We’ve just got to bounce back now on Sunday and get another three points there.

“We know it will be a difficult game against Wolves, they’re a good team. So, hopefully we can put on a good performance, get the win and get back on track. Of course it’s a good position [we’re in] but we’ve just got to keep going and keep working hard.”

Liverpool’s draw against Everton represented their long-held game in hand in the Premier League title race, and a draw rather than a win means they’re now seven points clear with everyone having played 24 games rather than the nine they could have been.

As disappointing as Wednesday was, then, in the context of the title race is was hardly a disaster—or it least it won’t be if the players don’t let it get to them, if they can refocus quickly, and can then go and get all three points against Wolves.

“We’ve just got to keep picking up the three points wherever we can,” Bradley added of the always packed fixture list ahead for a top side like Liverpool. “We know there’s still a lot of games to go and we’ve just got to keep our heads down and keep going.”
