Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen got the crucial goal that earned Napoli a 1-1 draw against Udinese and the 2022/23 Serie A title, Completesports.com reports.
Napoli went into the game needed at least one point to become Serie A champions for the first time since the 1989/90 season.
Also, it is their third league title after first emerging champions in 1987 and 1990.

Osimhen’s goal against Udinese means he has equalled George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A with 46 goals.
Also he has broken Samuel Eto’o record for the most goals scored by an African player in a Single Serie A Season with 22 goals.
His target now is to finish as top scorer in the league which will make him the first ever African to achieve it.

Heading into Thursday’s game, Napoli squad was accompanied to the Dacia Arena, home of Udinese, by at least 14,000 fans.
While another 50,000 packed out the Stadio Maradona to watch the game together on big screens.
Things looked to be heading south for Napoli after Udinese broke the deadlock on 13 through Sandi Lovric.
But in the 52nd minute Osimhen scored what proved to be the title winning goal as he slotted home from a goal mouth scramble.
