The two center-backs continue their work to return to fitness in photos from the AXA Training Centre Friday.

Photos from the AXA Training Centre show the two Liverpool first choice center-backs working individually (but together at the site) in their rehabilitation — and seemingly having a great time, too (plus a Fabinho sighting).

so there’s a lot of “zooming in on knees” to be done. Get to work, fundamentally unserious captions added for your pleasure:

Van Dijk “assists” Gomez, who works at the squat rack, as the two work their way back to fitness. — Van Dijk “assists” Gomez as the two work their way back to fitness.

Virgil shows off the type of side plank work we all hate doing.

Van Dijk works on glutes, presumably whilst humming Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body.”

Virgil has a ball out! Playing about with a football!

Gomez cosplays as that annoying fella in the gym who sits and rests (or texts) on the equipment you want to use.

Gomez has heard the “Body-ody-ody-ody” tune Big Virg is singing and also has a go.

Virgil can remind Gomez that he’s used 25s to do this one.

Gomez also had a go with a football (!!!).

Virgil, throughout, is that fella at the gym doing the same things you’re doing except without any sign on his face that they’re at all a challenge. Ego-shattering, that fella.

Just look at him do a juggle, have a nice cup of hot cocoa, put on some soothing music... — Just look at him do a juggle, have a nice cup of hot cocoa, put on some soothing music…

Fabinho got a cheeky look-in as well. Injured center-back rehab! If you don’t laugh you cry... — Fabinho got a cheeky look-in as well. Injured center-back rehab! If you don’t laugh you cry…
