Liverpool FC have drawn Tottenham Hotspur at home for the third round of the Carabao Cup, aka the League Cup, aka the cup that doesn’t matter unless you win it and that you’d probably be happier going out of the first round of than having to play the semi-finals if you don’t win then.

Anyhow, Liverpool got Tottenham when they enter in the third round proper along with the rest of the teams playing in Europe (so not including Tottenham, who beat Charlton 5-1 on Wednesday to get in the draw and set up a date with Liverpool), with the fixture set to be played at Anfield during the week commencing September 14th.

On paper, Spurs in the third round is a very tough draw, even with as bad as Tottenham were last season. It’s not the only all-Premier League pairing, though, and until Spurs prove otherwise on the pitch, Man United getting Brighton is arguably the toughest third round draw. Arsenal also got Premier League opponents by drawing Ipswich Town.
