Maduka Okoye has gotten a late call-up to the Super Eagles for their doubleheader international friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, Completesports.com reports.
This was confirmed on the Super Eagles X handle on Wednesday.
Okoye’s late invitation maybe not be unconnected to Adebayo Adeleye’s unavailability following the war in Israel.
His last invite to the Super Eagles was in an international friendly game against Portugal on 17 November, 2022 which the three-time AFCON winners lost 4-0.
Also, the last time he was in goal for the Eagles was against Tunisia in round 16 of the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon which the North Africans won 1-0.

Last season Okoye did not make any appearance for Watford in the Championship.
He is yet to feature for Serie A club Udinese whom he joined in August, 2023.
The Super Eagles game against Saudi Arabia comes up on Friday, 13 October while the fixture with Mozambique is billed for Monday, 16 October, 2023.
