‘I’m Happy Here’- Iheanacho Rules Out Leicester City Exit

Kelechi Iheanacho has reiterated his desire to remain at Leicester City despite his limited playing role this season, reports[1].

Ayoze Perez’s arrival from Newcastle United last summer pushed Iheanacho down the pecking order at the club and he made his first league appearance against Everton in December-four months into campaign.

The Nigeria international seized that opportunity with a match-winning goal and assist. He’s been a mainstay in the team since.

Iheanacho replicated the feat a week later, grabbing an assist and hitting the back of the net once in a 4-1 win at Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old has scored twice since the league restart to further underline his importance to the club.

There are reports Brendan Rodgers is planning to sign a new striker this summer which could further affect his chances of playing on a regular basis.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Real Madrid flop Luca Jovic have been linked with the Foxes in recent weeks.

Iheanacho however insists he is not thinking about leaving the Foxes.

“I’m happy here. Everyone at the club has been fantastic. I’m scoring goals, have a good family, good team-mates,” he told Sky Sports.[3]

The versatile forward linked up with Leicester from Manchester City in August 2017 for a reported £25 million fee.
